שנה טובה (Happy Rosh Hashanah!)
Hi Viatologists,

Let's take a moment to extend well wishes to a strong and determined
nation of peoples! The Jewish people have been an important focus of
western philosophy, economy and tradition for centuries in the
Americas, Europe, and Asia.

To help celebrate their New Year and traditions of their homeland, the
Worldwide Transportation Library (WWTL) shares w/ you pictures of
Israeli motorways like the Ayalon Freeway and various cross-region
roads:

For those who wonder about Carl's use of other languages, let me
comment on his Hebrew.

His subject line is transliterated as: Shana Tova, which translates as
Good Year (actually Year Good - Hebrew puts the adjective after the
noun, unlike English which puts the adjective before the noun). This
is reasonably appropriate since a similar greeting, Leshana Tova (To a
Good Year) is used at this time of year, the Jewish New Year, Rosh
Hashana (which literally translates as Head of the Year). Rosh
Hashana began Friday (09/19/2009) at sundown and ended Sunday
(09/21/2009) after sundown.

His parting word is Lechayim, which translates as: To Life.

Pronuciation guide: Shana, Tova, and Lechayim each have the accent on
the 2nd sylable. The CH in Lechayim is to be pronounced as the CH in
BACH.

Wait. The 'strong and determined' people, eh? Like one of the ones that
Christians consider the Messiah? The ones who ran the Palestinians out of
the area, and who still insist on settling in areas supposedly set aside
for them? Judaism is a religion, just like Christianity. What makes it
any better(or worse, to be fair)?

Expect further phrases such as "Triumph of the Will" to escape from
Dodger.

That *would* be ironic, now wouldn't it?

Dude. I never get involved in these things. But you are way out of
line on this one. I understand you are ignorant as to what "the Jewish
people" refers to, but for once, Carl is right and you are wrong.

Why do you even reply to him? Evidence is that he doesn't even read
these newsgroups.

No, that would be the Israelis.

Judaism is but being jewish is not necessarily so. It is a culture
which was historically based on a religion but today one can be Jewish
without following Judaism.

Steve? Who the hell is Steve? I was talking about Carl Rogers, as
you could see if you hadn't oversnipped.

Therein lies the risk in not kill-filing EVERYBODY that insists on
quoting or commenting on the loser.

Sorry about that. Scrolling back, I realise that you were addressing me.
Don't worry, CalBog reads every post in one of his threads. It's probably
the closest he gets to actual human contact, given his obvious social(and
general) ineptitude.

Now, he doesn't respond to every poster; if you read who he does respond
to, you can figure out a consistent pattern.

To be perfectly fair, that would be the Israeli Government: not all
citizens of the country endorse the government's policies.

Isn't the religion bound up with the culture? It would be hard for me to
imagine a Jew who didn't practise some form of the religion-though all
forms are not what people would necessarily know or expect.
