Half Gigabit NIC (?)
I had a Del laptop today that connected to a Gigabit LAN at 500Mbs via its docking station.
Without the docking station it connected at 1 gig.
Is this expected behaviour?

Odd, there's no such speed for a gigabit port, though some docking
stations are now USB2 rather than PCI based, perhaps it's reporting the
480Mbps of the USB connection that the Ethernet is passing through?
