Slight OT: Suppliers ...benefit change   
Just wondeirng when you move home, how do you go about finding out who 
supplies electricity ? and gas ?

If the last tennant paid the final bills, they will let the "new occupier" 
know by letter.

I usually ask about the supplier before I move in.

Aparantly the last tenant had to leave sharply with no explanation, well 
that I have been given.

A quick Google search using "how do i find out who supplies my gas and 
electricity" found several links with the appropriate information, one of 
them is below.

Get photos asap of the current readings with a copy of that days' 
newspaper - it'll put some context into any argument about how much 
they'll claim you owe when they can't find the previous tenant...

Then contact the local REC (electrickery) and ask for the number for 
their MPAS service - then do the same with Transco asking for the 
number for their MPRN service.

Another quick call to each should sort it all out for you :-)

Just be careful the supplier doesn't demand you pay for a time period
before you start living there.
Npower had the cheek to try that with me, even getting as far as debt
collection before they backed down. I moved in during March, they
claimed I owed from January.
