[ANNOUNCE] This is a test announcement
The uk.announce group has been flooded recently with SPAM.

Henceforth any announcements without the string [ANNOUNCE] at the beginning
will be automatically and invisibly binned.

When testing is complete a full announce by the moderators will be posted
here, along with the charter of this group.

While I think this is a good idea in principal, and realise the
message quoted is only a test message, should such a change go through
some sort of RFD process? only be a

Unfortunately, I believe that a change such as this will probably make
the group as good as dead.
