So Who are you guys / ( and Girls ) What do you shoot. How When What
with ?

Me I’m now officially an old git. 60 last week. Been missing clays
for about 35 years. Only shoot about 6 or seven times a year but I
hope I will get better soon.
Only had 4 guns in all that time. Two Lanber’s and now a Beretta
White diamond ( so only a cheapie by most standards ) and a Baikal S/S
for the once a year Christmas shoot.

I probably do better with the Baikal than the Beretta.

For me its not the high score, but getting out in the mud and the rain
with a group of nice people who are supportive of someone like me but
with a competitive edge.

Hey up Charles,

I'm heading your way, I'm 58. At the moment I shoot mainly rats with a pre
charged air rifle. I've been and still am the secretary and one of the
founder members of a wildfowling society (kwacs) which I co founded in 1993.
I do a bit of claying for practice now and then and pigeon shooting when I
get round to it. I have a BSA air rifle and shotguns, a Baikal and a Breda
3" magnum. I'm formerly an fac licence holder but gave that up quite a
while ago when I no longer needed it for rabbit bashing.

I've gone the other way round with my shooting to you, I prefer the easy way
rather than traipsing through mud and snow nowadays.

Regards

my goodness what old blokes I'm 53 shooting for about 30 yrs (air rifles
before that) beater/ gundog handler on my second Lanber field -should never
have sold the first Beretta s/a for woodpigeons and various others for rough
shooting. I'm with Dave if god had intended me to drag my arse across fields
with bags of decoys he wouldn't have provided a string of 4x4's still enjoy
shooting on the moors though.

I never considered Air Rifles in the past and was Amazed at the price
you can pay for one these days. If it doesn’t make a noise I loose
interest but it must be a good sport as lots of people use them

As for the bad weather shooting.
Well there are a lot of jobs around the house, mainly outside.
So if its raining I cant do them.
Shame.

I'm a relative newbie, 6 - ish years, I shoot a heap of crap that started
out as a Miroku and been chopped about a lot, ending up as a sporter/trap
hybrid, but it just /fits/ - so who cares. Mainly clays although I'm
always up for vermin control or something for the pot, less keen on
indiscriminate killing - I just can't see the point, but that's my own
personal POV.

My all too rare moments of brilliance are what keeps me going through
missing stuff by overengineering it. Being female, my age is obviously a
state secret, so I'll say older than Pixie Geldof and younger than Joan
Collins. I enjoy all disciplines, but prefer sporting/FITASC to trap for
the variety. Last year I entered the ABT selection shoot for the crack,
but didn't this year.

Yes I have had my moments. The problem for me is I am quite a bad
shot.
Sometimes, I am possessed and have a good run.
Unfortunately If I am having a good stand I suddenly notice everyone
watching goes quiet (instead of a little background chat)
This un nerves me and I screw up the last shots. So 8 out of 10 is a
good score for me.
I once did a 23 in skeet and 70 in DTL but that’s in 30 years.
If I was so good I expected to straight everything I think I would get
bored or very angry if anyone moved when I was shooting. You know who
they are ))
I go to have a change from everyday life. Its good for me.

No I didn't dave, I wrote to my MP James Purnell over the matter and
he agreed that they'd trampled all over my human rights, he contacted
GMP Firearms and they told him that 30% of all Gtr Manchester firearm
licence holders live in the same housing asc as me, even one of his
friends, and they would support me in any action I took. Purnell
wrote to New Charter housing and demanded that they change their
attitude, but they virtually told him to "piss off", So I'm waiting to
move, I've done nothing wrong except live under a New Labour
controlled borough............Anyhow bought two new guns Tues, a grade
5 mk38 32" trap gun, and a mk38 grade 6 30" sporter try them sunday, I
bought a Benelli crio auto as well, love it!...........So hopefully
when I get rid of the socialist political correctness, I'll have them
all back in my home...........The drug dealers are still here by the
way, they seem to like them.

they are going to move me GP and Consultant insist, suppose its my
own fault for getting divorced and dumped in a council flat.
But you wouldn't believe the attitudes of people in tinpot positions
of authority, they just don't live in the real world, I've had my door
locks glued
and lit newspaper shoved through the letterbox, my new car had all the
panels keyed and number plates removed £4,000 quid it cost to repair.
Three black guys came with handguns and tried to smash their way into
the drug dealers to shoot him, I witnessed it, so I was forced to
sleep in my car for two nights on police advice, yet these jobsworths
treat me as a threat to THEM, hence the removal of my guns, you
couldn't make this up

they are going to move me GP and Consultant insist, suppose its my
own fault for getting divorced and dumped in a council flat.

Hey up Joe,

Bloody unbelieveable aren't they? Well you'll probably be pleased to get out
of there mate if they don't bung you in some other God forsaken hole. I hope
it all worksd out for you mate, it can't be good for stress levels etc when
this sh*te is on your doorstep.

Regards
Dave
