Innocent to pay court costs
Since motorcaravanners are motorists, this could affect us all:

I recently became aware of a government move to change the rules by which
motorists who are acquitted are reimbursed their legal costs. It seems that
from this month, the maximum costs you can be awarded are at the prevailing
legal aid rate, which means that you'll probably have to pay most of your
costs if you choose to be professionally represented. Allegedly, the
government is doing this because meeting the costs of the 400,000-ish
motorists acquitted annually is proving too expensive and rather than
address the cause of so many are invalid prosecutions, they're tilting the
playing field against us.

http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=20842 is the
Pistonheads article a friend told me about. It includes a link to a No 10
petition calling for abandonment of the change.
