Boris Johnson cycles at girls, waving his tool, for Fanny.
Truly incredible story:
Boris Johnson saves filmmaker Franny Armstrong from attack.
Boris Johnson came to the rescue of a high profile climate change
activist and filmmaker who was being attacked by a group of young
girls brandishing an iron bar, it was revealed today.
"He said to the girls: 'What do you think you are doing?' He picked up
the iron bar, called after the girls and cycled after them."

Johnson's state of the art gear gives him the edge on the street:

Not his tool either. Allegedly it was the weapon one of the
attackers had been carrying.
However, your version sounds a lot better.

Good on him. Not afraid to have a go, and not afraid to admit when
he's wrong. What the hell is he doing in politics? These traits are
anti-survival in that field!

Would he have stopped, or even noticed, had he been in a car? I
suggest that the streets seem extremely unthreatening if there are
lots of bikes about. There's a perception, to both the yob and the
potential victim, that cyclists are more likely to stop and assist.
Hence an environment which not only is perceived to be safer, but
probably is materially safer. I discount the danger of absent-
mindedly stepping in front of a bike and getting knocked down.
A number of years ago I stopped on a Sunday morning to assist a paper
boy who'd been beaten up. Out of the corner of my eye I caught sight
of newspapers strewn across the lawn of a large house. Took a couple
of secs to realise that that indicated something was wrong, and it was
easy to stop and ride back. In a car I probably a) would not have
noticed, and b) would probably not have turned around.
Well done Boris; more like him, please.

and as for this quote,
"If you find yourself down a dark alleyway and in trouble I think
Boris would be of more use than Ken."
I think that for certain young ladies, that's true.

Ah yes, the 'gang' of three incident.
I notice the Maul has got a rare picture of Boris wearing a helmet and
not on the phone .
Now he's become Sir Galahad there will be an extra decrease in police
spending and cyclists to be given Home Beat jackets.

Did he return the iron bar to its rightful owner?

Only if you are confident you can hold your own in a street fight against
