Woman age 36 who seduced 15 year old let off
A male would have got at least 4 years.

"A married mother-of three who flew 9,600 miles to seduce an Australian
boy of 15 she met on a website was freed to return to her family yesterday."

So...... how many hundreds of thousands of dollars will this "boy"
receive in compensation when his family tell him to start bleating:
"OOOOhhhhh, my life has been ruined by this disgusting woman and I'm
on tranquillizers now and having suicidal thoughts and she has made it
impossible for me to form healthy relationships with women for the
rest of my life....."

When I was 15, I'd have given my right arm to be seduced by a 36 year old
woman.
I'd wager that any heterosexual 15 year old lad would feel exactly the same
way.

"After 112 days in custody a 16-month jail sentence for sex crimes was
suspended and she was told to go home to Virginia, US."

I'm guessing she'll be re-arrested in the States and placed on the SOR
there. 112 days in custody was quite a stretch, too.

But the REAL question here is: would a MAN have been granted the same
leniency in exactly the same circumstances? I think we all know the
answer to that one.

One thing I've noticed is that the tabloids have stopped referring to the
women in these cases as "Randy temptress" or "Sexy miss" (when she is a
teacher). It wasn't too long ago the "Sexy miss seduces naughty school boy"
stories ran toe to toe with "Disgusting pervert preys on young girls".

A reason for the difference in attitude and sentencing is certainly
because young lads and young girls have entirely different sexualities
with entirely different possible outcomes from sexual activity.

He's Australian, not British.

I don't believe the compensation culture is as rampant there as it is here.

I was thinking of this one: I once bought a computer magazine in a shop.
The front claimed it contained a CD with £22000 worth of software for free.
Suppose the CD was missing and you only discovered this when the CD was no
longer available. Could you sue the publisher for £22000?

I've yet to see one of those CD's that contains anything more usefull than
30 day trial versions.
It used to be so easy to beat 30 day trials.
Nowadays it's so much harder to crack trialware.

But (exactly) the same or analagous circumstances could not possibly occur
with a male offender.

As a couple of previous posters have remarked, thinking back to when I was
15, I would not have regarded myself as a victim if it had happened to me.

And therein lies the difference. Any 15 year old lad seduced by mature
woman would feel as if he'd won the lottery on Christmas day.

It would be completely different for a 15 year old girl. Girls have an
entirely different sexuality than boys and the consequences of sex are
far more serious for a girl.

That is true. No point in those 30 day trial versions, the keep lying there,
clogging your system and nagging you long time after they have expired. And
beware if you decide to buy over the internet, they will often say at the
very last moment (in small print) that you have agreed to a continued annual
upgrade. And they have your credit card number...

Ahem... My Sizefitter program is a genuine free offer; it was not intended
as public domain, so I build in a 30 day trial. However, since there have been
only trial downloads, I decided to provide the key to those who ask for it
and jot down a little about their application and experience.

Well, the obvious answer is that a girl can end up pregnant, whereas a boy
cannot.
Not that this deters most teenagers though.

There are also big emotional differences between young lads and girls
in regard to sex. A young lad is so fired up he could shag a hole in a
plank with as much emotional attachment as he could a girl. He's
designed to spread it around as far and wide as possible as quickly as
possible. Girls tend to be more romantic and emotionally involved.
There are Darwinian reasons for this.
