What a shame the Republicans didn't feel compelled to just toe the party line or be branded "unamerican" when the vote on the illegal Iraq war was being taken. If they still had the trillion dollars or so that has been squandered on razing Iraq to the ground for no good reason and then trying to rebuild it again the economy wouldn't have tanked so badly and they'd have the money in hand to bail out a few more failed institutions.
