At least the members of the US Representatives don't all troop into the
voting lobbies like a flock of sheep as directed by the whips..
One said yesterday on TV that he'd received so many e-mails from his
constituents that he could not support the measure.
Whatever next - Listening to the people who elected him - what will become
of the country!

What a shame the Republicans didn't feel compelled to just toe the party
line or be branded "unamerican" when the vote on the illegal Iraq war was
being taken. If they still had the trillion dollars or so that has been
squandered on razing Iraq to the ground for no good reason and then trying
to rebuild it again the economy wouldn't have tanked so badly and they'd
have the money in hand to bail out a few more failed institutions. Still you
reap what you sow as they say. Perhaps it will teach the idiots a lesson but
I doubt it.
