Armed police in drugs raid
16 armed plod bravely smash their way in after a tip-off and find a bit of
silver foil and a spliff.

Sgt Connor is also asking for other people to dob in somebody they don't
like.

I wonder if WiltsPlod are short of a few points on their end of year
crimes solved figures?

Are warrants issued for cautions?

Armed police in drugs raid
By Lucy Buckland

ARMED police stormed four flats in Calne in a massive drugs raid after
receiving a set of anonymous tip offs.

More than 16 police officers smashed their way into the flats in The Green
this morning arresting two men in their twenties.

Police recovered drugs paraphernalia suggesting the use of class A drugs
and a small amount of cannabis.

Both men were cautioned for possession of cannabis and police have issued
a warrant for a third male.

It was the first raid for new Calne Sargeant Phil Connor, who replaced
Mark Rees a week ago.

Sgt Connor said: "We will execute search warrants on any information
received and our taking a hard stance on any drug use or users in Calne.

"I can assure the public any information they give us will be acted upon
and we urge anyone who knows of drug use or users in the town to contact
wither Wiltshire Police or Crimestoppers anonymously."

It would be terrible if some anonymous informer had to call Wiltshire
Police and give the adress of some respected and upstanding local
councillor or politician who was a staunch prohibitionist and say that
the premises was being used as a cannabis grow operation and that drug
taking goes on there.

Would anyone really be so despicable?
