Senior Electrical Engineer - Leeds - Permanent, £38-42k per annum

Senior Electrical Engineer needed to join this leading independent,
employee-owned company, whose business spans 140 countries. The
business is continually winning commercial and Industry awards,
including International Consultancy of the year and being placed 8th
in the UK’s Sunday Times ‘20 Best Big Companies to Work For survey.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be joining the Leeds office which
was opened in 2004 and currently has around 40 staff.

Buildings projects worldwide include the Manchester Civil Justice
Centre, Vulcan House (home office building), Maze Sports Stadium-
Belfast, Karachi Port Trust Tower (Pakistan) and the Dubai Marina.
Along with these prestigious projects there is also huge breadth and
depth to the projects that are delivered including Education/Health
schemes and mixed used multi-storey commercial/ residential
developments.

We require a Senior Electrical Engineer to work on a range of
challenging, high-profile projects where you will have the ability to
receive and develop a brief and contribute to the development of the
design and construction process.

Duties include:
Electrical design work for a range of projects
Liaise with other construction professionals
Leading small teams of engineers to deliver projects on time and to
budget
Ensuring compliance with company quality systems
Calculate lighting levels within rooms
Provide all electrical layout and establish power schemes
Coordinate with the Mechanical Design Engineer and issue all
information to allow mechanical design to be completed
Liaise with the design team members to convey the requirements of the M
 service to them, as well as understanding the client brief
Write the specification for the project and establish the schedules
for all equipment
Respond to contractor queries and attend site progress meetings.

Candidate specification:
Candidates should have a good multidisciplinary knowledge of their
field and be able to positively advise other disciplines regarding
aspects of their design as it impacts electrical engineering issues.
Essential requirements:
Qualified to BEng/MSc degree level or equivalent in a relevant
subject
The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all
levels of staff and clients (both written and orally)
Experience and exposure to a broad range of electrical engineering
solutions
Experience working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy
