CreditMoron!
I signed up with CreditExpert a few months ago when somebody with my
name but a different address and date of birth got added to my report.
I've been checking my credit report regularly.
Recently I asked for a quote for a car loan but I didn't take out the
loan yet my bank got confused and it took ages to get the loan
cancelled on their records. When I checked my credit report it said
that the loan was still outstanding and it was last updated on 6 July
2008. I talked to Experian and they said that it should get updated by
my bank in August. When I said that I would have thought they would
have not have updated it because the loan had never happened and if
there had been an update it would have been around 6 August 2008 I was
told that they can update it any time in the month. Maybe they can but
I'm not convinced that they will.
I noticed that all my accounts said "Satisfactory" except one which
was blank. I asked why that was. They said it was because the account
had been settled. I pointed out that a lot of other accounts had been
settled but they still had "Satisfactory" on the account. The call
centre person didn't seem to grasp the significance of my comment.
They also said they didn't have the same information on their screen
as I did. I pointed out that this didn't seem to be a very good idea
given we were supposed to be discussing the same thing. They assured
me it didn't matter. I spoke to 3 different call centre people - the
latter two were supposed to be able to see what I could see but when I
asked them they said they couldn't! Once said it didn't matter - it
was like watching the same football on a different channel. I agreed
with the analogy and said it was like one commentator saying it was a
good match and another saying it was a bad match.
I'm waiting for Experian to respond to my issues and I'm also waiting
for my bank to get back to me. I don't suppose they will understand
the problem never mind know what to do about it!
