One for today
Only 1 today.
3:35 Ascot. MASTER MEDIC is a course and distance winner and had a
hat-trick of wins last year before being rested due to 'a few niggles'.
Assuming he's over those and assuming he doesn't need a pipe opener, 4-1
looks a good price for this one. Ascot is one of the courses where I like
to pick horses that have proven they can handle the gallop - rules out the
likely favourite, Fix The Rib, whose 4-in-a-row wins have all been over the
tight courses of Kempton, Fontwell and Folkestone.
In the 2:40 at Naas, I'm interested in Sorceror as he's one of my horses to
follow this year. Trainer says he's grown up a bit over the summer.
However, the likely favourite today scares me away from a bet. River Liane
only finished 5 lengths behind Go Native ealier this month.
Also at Naas, the 1:35 looks like it might be one of today's most
competitive races with 4 that I can't separate. Forpadydeplasterer, Joncol,
Tranquil Sea and Lochan Lacha all have claims and are all horses I'm
following this year. I might have a wee sniff at the last of these as, IMO,
it's the equal of the others but at 5 times the odds - 20/1 taken.

Master Medic at 9-2. Dropped a point on Lochan Lacha. Glad I stayed clear
of the other race.
