That's the new homegrownd of Newcastle, I understand St. James Park is
no more?

This follows on the heels of Emirates and Reebok. Geordies are
rather upset.

In US sports, it's something that's been going on forever, arenas and
stadia are often named after sponsors.

Look it's still St James Park above the gates but will be referred to
in the media as the sportsdirect stadium. Will fans call it that? No
chance.

If Ashley wanted something that would roll off the tongue why didn't he call
it The Clitoris?

It couldn't have been worse than the new name.

Going by the animosity it will bring, it seem like an own goal to me.
You'd be better paying to have a ground named after a buisness rival.
