Exciting New Political Documentary
The Ministry of Truth is a documentary due to be broadcast on 11th
October 2007 BBC2 which uncovers the hole in our constitution by
asking the simple question "why can't I prosecute an MP for lying?"
It
follows this thread from the Citizens Advice Bureau all the way
through the hallowed doors of the Palace of Westminster and into the
heart of our democracy, cheekily asking our politicians if they
support truth, honesty and accountability.

In this irreverent film some of the country's most well-known
politicians are posed with a tricky question: "Should it be a crime
for a politician to lie to the electorate?"

Key political figures including Jack Straw, Michael Howard, Harriet
Harman and the Lord Chancellor are put on the spot and questioned
about a politician's duty to tell the truth.
