security could not cope with Mr Griffin's visit then Sellafield had "serious

I don't think I've ever seen a Usenet poster as scared of any
politician, as you appear to be of Nick Griffin ;)
You're obsessed with him! - if he stubbed his toe in the shower you'd be
whopping and howling like a banshee...
Chin(s) up, William - the very worst that old Nick would do is ask you
if you'd care to leave the building ;), it's not as if he's going to
exterminate you.
So cheer up, and stop living in such abject terror, for goodness' sake.

Griffin (and anyone from UKIP) will be able to go anywhere they like
soon. I think the Conservatives lost a lot of support today, to add to
the loss of Labour support. Cameron had better say something quick, and
he'd better make it good.

Cameron looked at the last election but one, the one the Tories fought
with Europe as their only real issue, and knows it's a killer issue,
it kills any party that tries to campaign on it...
You see...
Nobody cares.
People vote with their wallets, and Europe isn't costing them that much
money...

He does not have to campaign on it. He merely has to say that there
will be a referendum on it and then shut up. He would be a bloody fool
not to do that. Are the French going to declare war on Britain if he does?

The problem here is that he's just said he isn't going to have one.
It's the Euro political gravy train, everyone wants a seat.

We don't have a Democracy - we have a Monarchy!

Even for voters who don't care about the issue this apparent volte-face
on Lisbon will have negative fallout for the Conservatives.
I mentioned it to my dad yesterday who has been a Conservative supporter
all his life and he voted BNP at the last election and makes no bones
about doing the same again. How can I argue with someone who has lived
through 90 years of blind blunderings by politicians and seen such
unprecedented change?

Not since yesterday, we don't.
The prerogative of a Monarch is to overrule his/her Parliament, if
necessary. A symbolic power these days, admittedly, but a power
nonetheless - and one that, in theory, *could* have been exercised.
What authority does HM Queen Elizabeth II have over the EU Parliament
that now governs us?
None.
Henceforth, we are no longer a Monarchy, but a merely a state within a
Federation.

I hate to say it but I can see this country and other parts of Europe ending
up in perpetual civil unrest, such as will make the problems with the IRA
seem like the good old days, especially if the world economy drops off the
edge of the cliff before our shit for brains economists and politicians wake
up to the fact that the demands of 10 billion (an estimated by 2050) people
aren't going to be anywhere near sustainable long term by an already grossly
overburdened planet.. As William himself admits, 'people vote with their

I'm not the one doing any 'admitting', I'm the one being rational.
I very much doubt that there'll be much rioting in the streets as long
as people have money in their pockets and 'Strictly Come Pop Idol', or
whatever, on their TVs.
The Poll Tax riots weren't carried out by the smug and comfortable...

A mere two or three years ago a few of the more enlightened were predicting
exactly where the world's finances would be right now, however most of the
major money men and political gurus simply wrote them off as being quite
mad, it didn't stop the global financial meltdown from happening though did
it?.
Home Secretary Alan Johnson tells us that he 'isn't going to lose any sleep'
about the UK's population increasing by another ten million over the next 20
years, but doesn't bother to explain just how we're going to provide a new
city the size of Bristol, along with all of the required infrastructure
'every single year' for those 20 years, and let's hypothesise that this
will be acceptable and even achievable, we have to ask ourselves as to
whether in the long term it will be at all sustainable without 'at the very
least' severe problems in the area of 'social cohesion' (sic), I think I
know on which side I would put my money.
