BNP's cynical & loony anti-War-on-terror posture
http://bnp.org.uk/2009/11/yet-another-bnp-success-in-catterick-garrison

There was plenty of interest at the stall from off duty serving
soldiers, army wives and teenage children of serving soldiers deployed
in Afghanistan. All agreed with BNP...all regarded the BNP as “our
only hope.”
--------

the BNP comment feature on this didn't come up--
Green Arrow seems to be our 'only hope'. yES this is a necessary war,
and BNP's cynical use as -it seems - the ONLY recruiting tool (at
Catterick) is despicable. We must chill the rogue, dangerous foreign
people in their home town. It is worse than if Churchill said in 1941-
**** it, they will never dare invade, let the Americans fight the
Nazis if they wish.. worse because our enemies may soon have NUKES.
Bring back Vera Lynn and ITMA...

It's that kind of comment which demonstrates the BNP's total lack of
grip on reality. If you're going to tell lies, at least make them
believable. If they'd said that "many", or even "most" people they
spoke to supported them, that might have been plausible to a bystander
unaware of the BNP's true nature. But saying that "all" agreed with
the BNP is so utterly unrealistic that there can be only two possible
explanations:

1. The author of that claim genuinely believed it to be true, despite
it's sheer ridiculousness.

2. The author knew it to be untrue, but believes that there are enough
stupid people out there who'll take it at face value that it doesn't
matter if the rest of them spot it as an obvious lie.

So the BNP's press office is either staffed by idiots, or staffed by
people who think that everyone who's prepared to vote for them is an
idiot. Either way, it pretty much proves why anyone who's not an idiot
could never vote for the BNP.

* One of the world's best-known strategists on the game of
checkers passed away in November. Richard Fortman was Illinois
state champion six times and in the 1970s and 1980s published a
seven-volume handbook on rules and tactics. Many people now
considering the game would be astonished to know that, as in
chess, there are masters and grandmasters, and international
rankings, that experts actually study historical opening moves and
endgames, and that some play, move-by-move, via the U.S. Mail.
A New York Times obituary noted that Fortman played as many as
100 games simultaneously, and won games blindfolded. Until the
end, according to his daughter, Fortman spent "hours each day"
playing checkers online. [New York Times, 11-30-08]

Of course no one in the Army supports the BNP, and the fact that
Catterick Garrison returns the highest percentage of BNP votes in
North Yorkshire is just a coincidence.
