I have more information about it than is on the web, I have
the issues of Solar Engineering Magazine published by the Solar
Energy Industries Association from the same months it was being
built.

And it used a concept that I wrote about in a booklet about
segmented collector mirrors.

The cost per watt or the total value of Kilowatt Hours over
a reasonable lifetime compared to the cost to build was never an
issue or an objective.

It was a demonstration plant, built to study cavity collector
boilers, and later to test storage methods and generate data sets
on those items.

Mirrors were nothing new, heliostats were nothing new, being
able to transfer thermal energy to rotational energy at a rate of
64 megawatts was a serious study.
