SAVE THOMAS HARDY COUNTRYSIDE!
PLEASE visit www.bypassthebypass.org for quick and easy ways in which
you can help to save beautiful Dorset countryside in the UK from
destruction.

Dorset County Council wants to push ahead with a highly-damaging road
between Dorchester and Weymouth, destroying classic Thomas Hardy
countryside, ploughing through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
(AONB), two Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSis) and Ancient
Woodland, all of which are supposed to be designated protected
areas. This sets a highly dangerous precedent in sweeping aside
legislation designed to protect our most precious and vulnerable
countryside.

The stupidity of this scheme is made even worse by studies which show
that this road scheme will create many more problems than it will
solve, including releasing over 2,000 additional tonnes of CO2 into
the atmosphere in the first year alone.

Bypass the Bypass is backed by a coalition of environmental groups
including the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE),
Friends of the Earth (FoE), Transport 2000 and the Woodland Trust.

More information and quick easy ways in which you can help can be
found on the website www.bypassthebypass.org - action is needed NOW!
Thank you.
