Worried about global warming? Please read
Greetings. I am currently in search of programmers to help develop an open
source, securable, and user friendly voting technology that can be trusted
to carry out civic voting tasks far more accurate and accountable than
current corporate sponsored voting machines. To begin with, I would like
some help developing and implementing an open source polling applet that can
be embedded in a web page. This polling app would need to be both tamper
resistant and tamper alarming. I choose to define tamper alarming as
follows: Upon detecting a tampering or intrusion attempt, the app would both
report the attempt to the server and display on the app itself the nature of
the attack, the offending ip addresses, and to serve notice to all viewers
that the voting process has been compromised.
Last summer, I set up a website at http://www.twopointzeronow.org that
describes a revolutionary idea I dub Democracy 2.0. In its most basic form,
it involves using an internet type WAN or Wide Area Network, along with open
source software, to conduct civic affairs directing towards a governmental
body enhancing, and perhaps eventually replacing the representative type
governing body. To work most effectively towards the common good, a great
sense of community must be instilled and preserved so as to guard against
unbridled greed, corruption, and other social cancers. One where political
parties are non-existent. Where senators and congressmen regularly poll the
voters from there districts to find out what they want for the issues of the
day, and listen and react to this. As opposed to being "whipped" by a party
to vote a certain way. Or to bend to the will of the almighty dollar.
Imagine a government free of corruption, where anyone caught with there
hand in the till is immediately removed from office and replace by the
voters within days (Remember former California governor Gray Davis?) Imagine
a form of government where corruption cannot even take root. Where
government is run for the benefit of ALL people, and not run like a business
for big business. (Greasing the palm is considered standard business
practice in most of the world.)
I ask if you could visit the site and forward me your thoughts, questions,
and criticisms. Thank you.
