The Society for Individual Freedom (www.individualist.org.uk) is
pleased to announce that its next guest speaker will be Dr Tim Evans.
After ten years of Labour government the British state is taking more
than 40% of GDP yet in almost every area of activity its services are
deemed to be failing. Dr Tim Evans examines the nature of this state
failure and details the inexorable rise of the UK's private health,
education and security industries. Crucially, he outlines the degree
to which ordinary people are seeking private sector solutions and the
potential impact this might have on the electoral sphere of British
politics.
Dr Tim Evans is currently the Managing Director of Farsight SPI which
monitors the output and thinking of the UK's leading health policy
opinion formers and commentators. He is also the President of the
Libertarian Alliance. Previously he has been the President of the
Centre for the New Europe; the Executive Director of Public Affairs at
the Independent Healthcare Association; the Chief Economic and
Political Adviser to the Slovak Prime Minister; the Assistant Director
of the Foundation for Defence Studies and a Senior Policy Consultant
at the Adam Smith Institute. A political sociologist by background,
he has taught at a number of institutions including London Guildhall
University and at Britain's Police Staff College at Bramshill.
