Channel 4 censors "The Simpsons"!
I've just seen the most extraordinary thing - censorship
of "The Simpsons" cartoon. The subject of the episode
was gun ownership: Homer buys a gun, Marge leaves
him until he gets rid of it.
The final scene is at a hotel, where Homer gives Marge
the gun, saying "you get rid of it, I'll just keep lying to you."
Homer and kids leave the hotel lobby. Marge takes the
gun over to a pedal bin, and opens the pedal bin which
shows her reflected image on the inside of the pedal bin lid.
------------------------------------------------------------------
<censored part - from memory>
Marge pauses for a moment, and then admires herself,
holding the gun like James Bond. Then she looks around,
and slips the gun into her handbag.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Marge walks out of the lobby, humming to herself. Her
walk, her manner much altered, more casual, more
confident.
Show ends.

I'm appalled.

Followed, a few hours later, with a programme about the
wonders of the car bomb!

Yeah I remember seeing that episode, on the same channel, a few years
back. Wasn't censored then.

Of course, watching a cartoon woman with blue hair smiling with a gun in
her hand, makes me want to wear a hoodie and blow holes in passers-by.
