Intrathecal Baclofen
Hi Y'all
I have MS with badly stiff/spasming leg muscles and Baclofen in tablet
form has lost its effectiveness :-( I'm now on the waiting list for an
Intrathecal Baclofen pump to be surgically implanted. I know what is
involved but have many questions/concerns/fears that the "|NHS machine" has
not really addressed beyond "Don't worry, It'll be alright on the night"
There has been little or no info beyond the basics which I already know from
the UK MS Society. I would be interested to hear from anyone who already has
such a pump and knows what living with it is like.
Best wishes
Dave

Dave,
I was told that I needed to have a pump about five years ago but I
didn't like idea. Instead I went my own way and slowly reduced the
Baclofen. The leg spasms were quite bad at times but easily relieved
by a puff or two of cannabis with no tobacco. After I got down to a
single 10mg Baclofen thing were much better. On bad days I take a
larger dose.
