2nd Call For Votes
Published today in uk.net.news.announce, uk.net.news.config and
uk.net.news.management.
For anyone who can't see the groups (or prefer not to go to unnc or
unnm) the votetakers address is:-
xcom2k9b at request dot ukvoting dot org dot uk
Full details of the candidates is included with the voting email.

Candidates C, D and E are up for re-election. The others appear to me
to have decided to seek election in a fit of pique because their
moderated group wasn't created as quickly as the proponent thinks it
should have been. YVMV.

The correct way to get the CFV is to go to one of the groups in which it is
published and request it from there. So let's do it by the book, you don't
want to have votes disallowed, or make extra work for the vote taker.

If you really hate unnm, unnc is just about empty and the announce group is
just that, announcements. But the discussion might be worth reading, you
don't need to join in.

It took them slightly longer in fact, but the votetaker got swine flu and
went missing for a while. The main difference is, we tried to accomodate
the concerns of the unnmers, (at least I thought we did) and were pleased
once it was done, because we got what we wanted in the end, while the
proponent in this case wanted it all his own way, was mostly unwilling to
consider changes, and is still moaning, despite getting it just about all
his own way. And one of those ways is causing trouble.

I have a little sympathy, I know what it's like, waiting, but on the other
hand, I was privy to the emails he was sent by the committee and I know he
has misrepresented them entirely. You can read all about it in unnm. If you
want to that is.:-)

Parrotfish, go to one of the groups, unnc is quiet just now, and open the
CFV post and Reply To Poster. That shouldn't have any problems getting
delivered, it's the proper way to do it and made easy, you don't need to
write a thing at that point.

None of the above.

I did read some, still lurk around in there and in unnc. I didn't vote, I am
not a fan of the principle of moderation on usenet, the whole point of
usenet (to me) is that is is unmoderated. That does bring its own set of
problems, but leaves me where I like to be, in charge of what I read and
post. :-)

Well, there's one man, not a candidate, wants all of usenet moderated, uk,
anyway, because it's a cesspool full of trolls etc. Others seem to think
it's the only way to win back people who like web forums. And I think Mr
Jackson wants moderated groups to go though on the nod.

I'll vote for if there is a very good reason. But he wants No votes to not
be counted. That's not democratic. Of course, being on the Committee won't
help him change the rules so that's all irrelevant in a way. If he RFDs
such a change you may want to get involved, if only by voting against it!

There are! I have 24 going back to August! And that's in NIN.

Go back to your download in unnc, the Second CFV was posted 03/11/2009 at
19.20. There are only 3 posts in there after it. The first was 32/10 and
that's only the 10th post back from the newest too.

Kat, I can't see any November posts via nin except one from Boo on 4/11
which was crossposted.

I can see it on Plusnet, Datemas and eternal-september. Looking at
the message ID I see that there is no dot between gradwell and net.
Can't find it with Google though.

Have you checked your filters? ISTR you delete all posts over 100
lines. The CFV is 597 lines.

You were nearly right John :-)
Not only have I got posts over 150 lines filtered, but also those
cross-posted to more than 2 groups so the CFV failed on both counts <LOL>

It must have been easier to vote in the recent Afghanistan elections ;-)

Eventually found it, thanks, Kat. My filters were deleting posts of more

I think, I am not certain, but CFVs don't get posted to Google at all
because we don't want people chancing upon it 4 years later and trying to
vote.

Just reading this again, I realise I cocked up the smiley, but I
