Opera ? Culture?
Culture, like fox hunting was banned by popular vote a long time ago. Along
with any other social activities that build cohesive communities. The
classes still try and steer society in the direction it thinks is best for
us no matter how empty the stalls are, the show will go on.
Right?
But deep down most of us want to celebrate life and have a dam good party,
but unfortunately the Criminal & Justice Act 1995 stopped all that. Cant
have a lot of people running around having a good time. It's just not
cricket.
But the bigger problem here is, that your so far detached from the reality
of what you see at the Stilt (empty stalls)
to realise that if you don't scratch my back why should I scratch yours
applies at the community level as does it in a bath.
They stopped us smoking in the pub. So I stopped being a customer along with
all the other smokers.
The pub is gone now. Closed, four jobs lost. We all moved to a pub shed,
see link below, I,am still drinking no smoking.
Celebrating life at every opportunity ;) No landlord, no license, B.M.
prices, game of pool, banging out the tunes.
ALL NIGHT if I want to in my own pub. lol of course I cant sell any beer
that would be illegal. But I can invite all my mates from down the pub round
for a drink, which for the last year has been kinda frequent, I think I can
count on one hand the nights we where closed, better than I can the many
many good nights we are open. The party continues relentlessly :D what can
I say.
Life after all is a celebration that should be shared. Right?
Oh that's right, you wouldn't know anything about your community, your
attention is on the passing of the shinny things that come into your reality
for short brief moments of pleasure. Its a matter of doing, than be done to.
Being in the moment of the performance, than being the performer. A
Preference for more will always lead to more even if its illegal.
Sounds to me like you need to get one of these things and phone around some
mates and try that tribal thing out. If you know what I mean; Oh and fuck
the opera, let it die, no one wants it apart from the odd faggot and o.a.p.
wanabies, obviously.
