Can you help make the Genealogy in Hertfordshire Web Site even better?
Following a "rest" over the summer the site is now back to normal. In
October I have posted in excess of 70 new pages or update, and over 25 new
pictures, to the popular web site at www.hertfordshire-genealogy.co.uk
Changes include features covering Football in Hertfordshire, Past news of
Hemel Hempstead, and interesting articles in the magazine "Herts Past and
Present." I have also restarted the "Rogues Gallery" where, if you are
lucky, you may find pictures of your ancestor. Further updates, including
more features, are planned between now and Christmas - which is the time
when many of you take advantage of the long holiday break and dark evenings
to catch up with your family history research.
If you have found the site useful there is now an opportunity for you to
make this web site even better. There are a number of ways you can help and
these are detailed on the site. For instance, if you know of a book
describing the history of a Hertfordshire town or village which is not
mentioned on the site you are invited to send me details and a brief summary
(perhaps including a mention of how it helped you own researches) to add to
the appropriate place page.
You can also help by making donations to the site's charity. So far about
£700 has been collected towards the target for 2009 and there is still time
for donations. In addition, to raise more funds for the mentally ill in
Hertfordshire, I will be making high resolution digital pictures available,
which you could use to make Christmas cards, frame to hang on the wall, or
use as wallpaper on your computer.
