Yes I have listened to many of the Round the Horne episodes & found them
very similar to The Goon Show really, sometimes even more off the wall. I'll
have to give Beyond our Ken a listen as I have only heard a couple of Rodney
and Charles Skits that were almost identical but not as daring as Julian and
Sandy from Round The Horne.
Have you heard Much Binding in the Marsh? it was earlier & similar to The
Navy Lark in a way but it was about the RAF & wartime situations, very
funny.

Sunday afternoons used to be 'Round the Horn', 'Gardeners Question Time',
'Sing Something Simple' and then 'The Minstrels Show', IIRC.

Ahh......Rainy Sunday afternoons, out at Bridgend, Newton Ferrers, a family
game of Monopoly to the death :-).......& the good old BBC.

The simple life.....we had crap TV reception as we received our signal
bounced of the steep hill on the other side of the Yealm (or at least that
what we were told) picture always had a ghost, so we made good use of the
radio back then.

Now listening to:

CARRY ON, JEEVES (Jeeves & Wooster) By P.G.Wodehouse.

I bought this set of 8 stories on 5 CDs from BBC Audio while we were in New
York last week.....great fun, comic genius!

Nah...........Boluchi's Indian for their Chicken Tikka Masala........Twice,
they give you half off if you pay cash too......so about $6 for a generous
taste of Indian heaven.

Avoided all McDonalds of course.....but could not avoid our own Tim Hortons
all over New York State in fact.
