Not many survivors then
The first week back seems to have taken its toll. Is everybody too
exhausted to post?

We had to do a "Travel Survey" to help in the planning of our new
carpark (once the old building is taken down and the landscaping can
begin). I'm wondering how many students who live within a mile of the
college insist on using a car...

We've been offered a grant of £3000 to do with travel.

Our kids come by taxi and would walk under a bus rather than wait so
I'm not sure what the money is for.

The complete opposite.

They're special needs and come from all over the boring county.

Yup.

I'm sure it would be cheaper to have more schools like mine dotted
around the boring county instead of transporting children every day.

Do you do some French with the special needs children too? I would not know

Sure, but would there be enough teachers to teach them?

They're all special needs children. Pay attention across the Manche.

The council could transport Sheel around the county in a taxi to teach
them all. Sheel's right (for once) - it would be cheaper as it would
only require one taxi.

We built a shelter for the parents so they wouldn't get wet and melt whilst
waiting for the children, cos if you come by car you don't have an umbrella,
do you?

We do it practically - e.g. colours of sticker cards, numbers of
stickers, how old the children are before and after a birthday, what
their name is, whether they want grande ou petite stickers etc.

They're now asking the names of the objects on the stickers e.g.
strawberries.

We're also gonna get the French modules of Education City.

We're only doing it orally at the mo. Seeing it written will confuse
them.

No and a big problem at the mo is getting heads for the schools.

Mine did.
He said I would have trouble in the future, so he took out 2 and the

I totally agree. With beginners I never write a word before they've started

Sort of. It's a website with different Maths, English, Science etc
educational games and activities.
It's quite closely linked to NC objectives but the kids don't know
that.
There is also a French module and homework access.

Each part is paid for separately.

www.educationcity.com

The kids like it and we have paid extra so they can access it from
home as well.

Teachers like it when their planning runs out as well.

I thought I hadn't any, until one (growing sideways the little wretch)
suddenly turned up on an X-ray. It wasn't a problem for me at that
time, so I declined treatment. (I had two small children - nobody needs
tooth extraction as well as two small children!) When it became a
problem, many years later, I had it taken out (with no children to
inconvenience). But it did hurt when the anaesthetic wore off!
