I thought this was a Mac group - aren't we supposed to value experience
and usability over checkboxes on a spec sheet?
The general public certainly don't give a flying badger about
specifications (particularly when it comes to phones) which is one of
the reasons the iPhone is such a success. That success is why it's no
surprise that Orange are selling it for nigh on the same price as O2;
why would they make it cheaper when all the evidence points to them
quickly selling out all they have at the current price point? It'd be
leaving money on the table. I'm actually surprised they didn't make it a
touch more expensive...

What? Where the hell did I get that idea? Obviously having a bad day. I
retract my statement due to it being complete and utter bobbins.

Stick with it - the iPhone has a rather high spec as phones go, top
tier certainly in terms of cpu, gfx and so on, but that doesn't matter
to the public either.
And it's still the only touchphone that really concentrates resources
on making sure it pays attention to your finger swipes. Which the
public *does* like.
No bluetoothing eg contacts around pisses me off though.

Just curious - O2 currently sell iphone for X, Orange come along and
offer to sell iphone also for X - so how do I as a punter decide from
where to buy it: would I perhaps be tempted to think that as O2 have a
headstart based on experience, would I be wondering why I should
go to these Orange new-boys-on-the-iphone-block?
I'm not having a go in any way - I'm just wondering how Orange expect
this to work for them.
Or am I missing something that's not reflected purely in price?
Cheers,
Marlon

Different providers have better coverage in different areas. O2 are
useless when we go to see Roger's family in Wales whereas Orange have
pretty good coverage there. It may well be that two streets over it's a
different story, but the places we need coverage we don't always get it.
I'm unlikely to change though looking at the data caps Orange are
talking about.

Excellent customer and technical support, incl Macintosh knowledge, in my
experience (15 years with Orange).
