What's going on is that you're asking about Windows software in a
hardware group.

"Discussion of software is off-topic with the following exceptions:

device drivers, diagnostic software, installation problems and
licensing issues with newly upgraded or homebuilt machines."

Not at all. It's your behaviour which is decidedly wrong and offensive. All
sensible people know that.

I'm not talking about Windows software or any kind of software from a
technical POV. It's just a general OT "ping " to anyone who might have
downloaded FENCES and found themselves in the unsatisfactory circumstances
today after the end of beta testing and could shed their thoughts on the
matter.

I did try to access a more appropriate forum, but at the time I could not
access it. I've since sorted out why and posted a enquiry there.

Apologies for any disturbances caused, but please lets have some
more appropriate response.

How about "Putting OT in the subject line does not make it any
more acceptable to post off-topic, so fuck off" - is that any better?

The days of your ilk are numbered. You shall be shut up in a prison, and
you shall not come out until you have paid the uttermost farthing.

Remember this when you are faced with this reality.

Goodday.

The free Version 1.0 is now available from the Stardock website.

For those who might have panicked a bit, like I did, when FENCES beta
finished and I could not get into the appropriate forum, everything turns
out fine when Impulse downloads an update. But, like many perhaps, I had
stopped Impulse from loading at Startup thus preventing the developing of
the solution.

No, you're the one posting off-topic in uk.comp.homebuilt

How does that excuse you from following the agreed charter for
uk.comp.homebuilt? "Ping" has no mention in it.

All you've been told IS appropriate.

You know something? I really couldn't careless about "Fences" - it's
got no relevance here.

But that's only real in your head, not out here with the sane people.
