RIP YYB 239H. 1970-2009
Sad news I'm afraid, despite a promise to wait a bit longer to see if
anyone would take on YYB 239H, Bon Chaunce Coaches have scrapped the
sole remaining Caetano VAL. Ribbleton Recycling took away the shell &
broke it up 3 weeks ago
Bon Chance still have the seats and various other removed ...

No food or drink on First Wyvern now
Fri, 26 Jun 2009 15:53:48 -0500
I see that the First buses around here have recently started displaying
bright pink posters about "Food, drink and litter", which in summary say
that food and drink can cause litter problems, so please do not eat and
drink on the bus. I have no problem with most of this: the old Midland
Red West used to have ...

Warstone Motors
Fri, 26 Jun 2009 03:30:47 -0700 (PDT)
I think Warstone are like a lot of old established bus companies who
have not kept up with the times & the ever increasing legislation.
Their aging fleet is well passed its sell by date & is difficult to
keep up to scratch. My concern is what will happen to their preserved
Bedford OB,s or to be precise an OB (GCA ...

Secure accommodation for vintage vehicles available in Rotherham
Thu, 25 Jun 2009 16:03:50 -0700 (PDT)
It has come to my attention that South Yorkshire Transport Museum is
considering renting another unit alongside its new base at Aldwarke
(Rotherham). If this goes ahead, they will for the first time in ages
have some space to spare, which they propose to rent out. The
remaining space is enough for two buses or sev ...

Bristol Bus Station Information (or not)
Tue, 9 Jun 2009 16:28:52 +0100
On Sunday I was in Bristol so went for a look around the new(ish) bus
station.
On passing the National Express counter, I heard the lady on duty there
saying in a distinctly fed up voice "Why do people keep coming here for
local bus information?"/
"Yes," I thought to myself "I bet they get a lot of that. ...

From http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/bristol/8089299.stm

Transport operator First Bus said the development, in Dorchester Street,

Bristol Fleetname Question
Tue, 9 Jun 2009 12:12:40 +0100
Can anyone tell me what the fleetname is on the Bristol LH in this
picture on Alan Watkins' (excellent) site?
I don't recall Bristol Omnibus ever having anything other than "Bristol"
on the sides in NBC days (except for "Bath", "Gloucester", etc.)
