Changing ISP - what happens with newsgroups?

I am thinking about changing my ISP. At the moment I use the news
server belonging to my present ISP. I use Forte Agent as newsreader.
If I change to another ISP is it guaranteed they will have a news
server, or are there independent news servers that I could use?
Any advice appreciated.

Nuisance call - any ideas?

I have received a call from a 'Withheld' number. Normally I don't
answer these but this time I did. It was an automated call with an
option to press 5 to speak to an advisor. I pressed 5. As soon as I
said that I wanted my details removed the 'advisor' replied: "Why

British Gas harvesting phone numbers by duplicity

(1) British Gas obtains my number in a sneaky way.
(2) They make it hard for me to request a removal of my number
(3) When I manage to request it, they don't actually remove it
(4) I find my number may be with other subcontractors.
Is there an action group anywhere which is trying to stop
practises like that b ...
