Have I bypassed Master socket surge protection & is that bad ?

Hi
I've recently added an extension for my PC opening up the BT master
socket and inserting the extension wires straight into it (rather than
using any extension apparatus). I've now become aware that the master
socket has built-in surge protection to protect equipment from all
kinds of current jumps including ...

I've just gone back to BT for phone calls, just spoken to a woman in
India with the worst grasp of English of any Indian person I've ever
spoken to, if she ding dinged any more she'd have started clanging!
Anyway, trying to explain that they used to do a free premium rate and
international call bar got me no- ...

BT doorphone with Mitel exchange?

We've just switched from a BT exchange to a Mitel 3300, and somehow
connecting up the doorphone to the new exchange got left out of the
installation contract. Now we can't make it work, even though we are
reasonably technical...
Has anybody else connected the doorphone from a 'BT Revelation' exchange
to a M ...

Now received an e-mail from them offering paperless billing and if I not
accept I will be charged extra.
I have replied asking what this is all about as not mentioned, or at least
not noticed by me during the on line ordering process and not on my copy of

Hello,
Hadn't realised until today that, from 1.8.09, phone providers are not
required to charge the same for 0870 as they do for 01/2/3.
Effectively, the only thing that has changed is that revenue share is
no longer permitted.
