I've received an alert from http://www.dcs.lancs.ac.uk/iono/aurorawatch/
today for the first time in many months. It is claiming "VERY LARGE
increase in local activity, possible SSC." Is this significant as the
spike suggests, and are we going to have a run of out of sync weather
events?

After a pleasant day yesterday with a hight of 18.3C today has thick cloud
with associated very light drizzle. Max 15.2C.
On this day last October there was snow in London and a few cms lying in
parts of Berks, Herts and Surrey.

Tide tables?

Dear All,
Just wondering if anyone had any links that showed graphs of yearly
tide heights (both this year and historically) for locations on the UK
coastline?
Am intrigued by the storm surge event on the south coast on 24th
October 1999 - my parents have a little bolt-hole in Pevensey Bay that
was quite bad ...

Must have been some storm as it didn't even generate a single pixel on
the radar - must have stayed put for a long time and thrown down a very
narrow cone of rain - learned paper coming up no doubt .....
