CWI - how to measure effectiveness?

I have been wondering how to measure the 'effectiveness' of adding CWI
to a domestic house, apart from seeing the resultant change in energy
costs at a much later date.
It is clearly not good enough to simply measure the surface
temperatures of the inside and outside of the exterior walls, as one

I phoned Firex tech support and asked about using smoke cans for testing
their alarms.
The black cannisters of smoke cans contain a silicon based propellant that
blocks up the sensors if it is not given in the correct dosage using a hood.

copying video tape to DVD

I have been transferring all my copies of video to DVD and I have been
asked to transfer some old camera video from the original cassetts.
The original video camera tapes are marked up 'Sony Video8 P5-90.
How can I do this when the original camera is no longer available?

Casting epoxy resin in a nylon mould

I have discovered that epoxy resin doesn't stick to nylon. That
doesn't seem to be a property of nylon that is well advertised, but
Google found a number of people complaining that they were unable to
glue nylon.
For my purposes this is ideal, since I want to cast some insulators
from epoxy resin, and I am able ...
