Independents' Day Treasure Hunt in Manchester
Mon, 08 Jun 2009 22:30:40 +0100
Thought some of you might like to know that the annual Independents' Day
Treasure Hunt, celebrating Britain's independent breweries, is coming up
soon. It's on Saturday 4th July (of course), and it's basically a
combined pub crawl and quiz, roaming around some of Manchester's better
hostelries. More details at ...

Saltaire Brewery theft
Mon, 8 Jun 2009 11:26:23 +0100
Thieves have broken in to Saltaire Brewery and stolen a large quantity of
casks containing a new brew.
It is thought that they may have been stolen in order to offer to pubs or
festivals, as a large quantity of bottled Saltaire beer was also taken,
using a fork lift truck. Casks are often stolen to sell on as ...

Harvey's
Sat, 6 Jun 2009 02:55:57 -0700 (PDT)

Griffin Inn - Warwickshire
Thu, 4 Jun 2009 14:35:49 +0100

come across where a postcode leads you astray. The pub says GBG is correct
with B46 2LB, but website planners direct you to centre of Shustoke and The
Plough In ...

Price is not right
Tue, 02 Jun 2009 20:35:39 +0100
Just back from the Cotswolds after a week away and managed to take in a
number of CAMRA-rated pubs including the Old Spot at Dursley. But the
prices seem to be even higher than London - a round for me, the wife and
two kids - pint of 3.8% bitter, a small glass of wine/or half pint cider
and two small glasses o ...

Fat Cat in Sheffield
Sun, 31 May 2009 08:03:51 -0700 (PDT)
I was just wondering if anybody could comment on the experience I had
at the Fat Cat in Sheffield a couple of weeks ago. I had great hopes
for this pub, as I wandered in out of the Sheffield Monsoons. The
place was, to put it mildly, a disappointment. The Pale Rider was
tired (not just a bit along in its maturatio ...

regularly again.
