Dogs on Walks - Cows
Mon, 26 Oct 2009 22:38:11 +0000
I walked with a group on Sunday and was dubious when I saw that a
Labrador dog was to accompany us.
However, she trotted happily alongside her owner, and negotiated stiles
with just a little help.
When we came to a field containing livestock, she was told to "stay"
just after the stile, whilst 8 of us walk ...

Yes, what a great summers day on the South Downs today ....... and its
nearly the end of October! Set of from home just before 06:30 driving east
into brilliant sunshine, and was heading southeast by 07:30, passing over

Fri, 23 Oct 2009 16:05:23 -0700 (PDT)

a politically motivated attempt by ministers to radically change the
country and "rub the Right's nose in diversity", according to Andrew
Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, Jack Straw and David

Paths - on map and ground
Sat, 17 Oct 2009 13:08:19 +0100
The accuracy (or lack) of paths shown on OS maps has been discussed in
this forum before.
I have just spent the last week in the Lake District with my trusty
Etrex H. Like others, I use it generally to create a track log as part
of my personal walk record. Uploading the track log into Anquet, I have
notic ...

Wed, 14 Oct 2009 13:01:16 +0100
We walked into B. Stortford expecting a pub on the Navigation but

wholesale redevelopments? We settled for the Tanners Arms just short
of the railway Station and went for a train. Are there any waterfront
pubs further into B. Stortford? (its a lovely c ...
