How easy to retro-fit boom furling gear ?

Question pretty much as title: can anyone tell me how easy / cheap it
is to retro-fit boom furling gear to a 32 foot yacht which currently
has slab reefing ? Will it be possible to just fit a new boom or will
a new main sail and mast be needed as well ?

House Batteries

My 'built to a price' Beneteau has eaten its first set of house batteries.
They were branded 'Tudor' and I believe they are Indian made 'car
batteries'.
Does anyone have advice regarding a deep discharge replacement
that is likely to last for 5 or more years
I have my eye on Elecsol 85Ah batteries at the mom ...

Bedding compound/sealant for aluminium fittings

A friend took of a cast Al fitting a while back and found the acid curing
agent had badly corroded the fitting. I think he said he used Lifecaulk
which, I seem to recollect, is a polysulphide.
RTV silicone cures with the production of acetic acid and I know causes some
corrosion - I have seen it.
