you recommend, I am currently about to fit an erberspacher diesel
heater to the boat as I use and stay on it in winter. The night heater

VHF channel 80 for marinas - how does it work?

I don't remember this being explained on the radio ops course.
When you contact a marina on channel 80, the marina can hear you and
you can hear them.
But when a boat alongside contacts the marina, you can only hear the
response from the marina and not the original caller.
I know it is something to do with channe ...

Advice on the ARC

I am giving serious consideration to adding the ARC to my logbook.
Obviously I wouldn't bring the yacht from Thailand, so it would have to
be a 'paid crew' endeavour.
And it's too late to think of this year - the earliest would be 2010.
Has anyone in the group attempted/achieved this? As a paid crew? Any
