Headlight Alignment

I can't believe I don't know the answer to this - I am truly a TC.
Should the 'level' bit of the headlight beam (not the bit that kicks
up) be horizontally aligned to the lane you're in, or the lane to the
right? I.e. on a single carriageway road, should the kick-up start at
the left curb or the centre of the road ...

Sold an old TV on Ebay last night, the winning bid was a late one and I
immediately emailed him.
Emailed again today, no reply.
It's a cash on collection jobbie from someone who lives around 5 miles away,
how long before I offer to second bidder and tell first one to bugger off?

Mike from Black Horse in Hospital

Dropped into the Black Horse today on the way home after a weekend holiday.
Mu told me Mike went into hospital two weeks ago with lymph node cancer.
(after a long period of Mike refusing to acknowledge the lumps and other
symptoms existed - typical bloke!)
