I recently bought a new 16" flat screen TV to use in the caravan. The TV
uses a 240v to 12v 4.lamp 50w transformer which gets exceedingly hot and I
am not happy with the heat generated. Can I run the TV from one of the 12v
sockets in the van whilst the van is connected to the mains recharging the

Cooking outside

Have caravanned for twenty something years and only ever used a real BBQ;
one that use's charcoal. gas one's are not BBQ's but outdoor gas cookers.
Butane burns hotter but solidifies at a higher temperature, Calor burns
cooler but continues working at and below freezing point.

Last time we were on site, we became very aware at being the odd ones out.

Well.... everyone seemed to be cooking with gas outside of their
awnings/tents on the most wonderful assortments of stoves/BBQ's.

Dandy Question

Seriously considering buying a Dandy Trailer tent/caravan. Have been
looking on EBay and have a fair idea of how they work. The only thing I
can't work out is storage. There are some lockers, and odd corners, but
I can't tell whether the floor area is free, or whether the 'canvas'

solar panel connecting to a 13s socket/plug

I have a 40watt solar panel which connects direct to a battery.
Would it be possible to connect this panel to a 13s socket,As the caravan
kas a connection to the battey and earth with this .
Would make things easy.I cannot see no reason why this would not work as
when a car connected the caravan battery gets cha ...
