tunnel tent pitch     Tue, 14 Aug 2007 07:15:35 -0700
Anyone have any experience of pitching a tunnel tent on wet boggy ground, mid-winter, and able to stop the swirling winds plucking the pegs out of the ground? I pitched my Nallo tunnel tent a couple of winters ago in a storm. 2 of us huckled down and for the first few hours everything seemed good. But by the mi ...

Hook Up Lead     Sun, 12 Aug 2007 17:35:06 GMT
Do i really have to pay ¡ê50 for an EHU Lead? Cant i just get 20m of 1.5mm^2 three core flex, fit a blue plug at one end and an RCD and a couple of sockets at the other? I reckon i could make one for much less than ¡ê50 considering i could 'borrow' most of the stuff from work. :) ...

Camping im the Outer Hebrides     Sun, 01 Jul 2007 05:12:26 GMT
I thought you all might like some light relief - like the story of a lamb to the slaughter. We plan a short hol each June and, bouyed by the success of one to Mull last year, we got adventurous and decided on the Hebrides. We were puzzled at the lack of camp sites. That is until we got there. The first nig ...

Sttiching flysheet     Fri, 29 Jun 2007 15:47:53 +0100
hiya I have done my annual tent proofing and inspection today prior to going on holiday. It is quite an old tent but I love it and I don't believe in chucking stuff away if it can be repaired! The only major problem is where one of the triangles of pseudo-canvas used for a guy line, attaches to the flysheet. ...

Going camping in Forfar area     Thu, 28 Jun 2007 05:04:41 -0500
I'm going camping in the Forfar area on and off for the next three weeks, come hell or high water. The tent is up to it, so am I, and hopefully the rest of the family. If anyone is up that way look out for an Aztec Palatio with a white Citroen ZX estate parked beside it. Beers will be free. Have fun camping eve ...

Advice required for camping loo and shower     Thu, 28 Jun 2007 07:13:46 +0100
Folks, Well I have to admit it - we are completely skint and so have no option but to let out our house for holiday lets this summer. Its near the beach in Cornwall so that shouldn't be a problem. But here's the thing: We are going to fence off half of the (large) garden and camp in it for the duration ...
