Statement of truth
Sun, 31 Aug 2008 17:10:10 +0100
In the event of it being demonstrated that the statement of truth
contains a number of assertions which are not true and can be shown to
be false, is the person signing the document subject to any sanction?
If this is the case, how would one go about pursuing the matter? I am
not interested in financial compen ...

Any person arrest - reasonable grounds for suspicion
Sat, 30 Aug 2008 13:50:08 +0100
By way of some background to my question, in December last year I was
detained outside my local Asda store because of a false alarm. Because
of their arrogant behaviour on that night and subsequently, I am
pursuing a county court claim against Asda for assault, battery, and
false imprisonment.
They have filed a ...

Fri, 29 Aug 2008 15:55:04 +0100
A very large illuminated advertisement hoarding was erected locally
without planning permission. After retrospective planning applications
and appeals were refused, the council eventually issued enforcement
notices against both the land owner and the advertising company, and
these passed the due date.
Before the ...

Sold a duff train ticket
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 16:50:06 +0100
This hasn't happened to me, or anyone I know (yet) but anecdotal
evidence is quite strong.
On September 7th there is a major re-vamp of the way that train tickets
are named (and to some extent what their validity is). But the various
ticket-selling sites (operated by the railway industry) seem to be
having ...

House left in trust.. what value is used?
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 14:05:05 +0100
When my father died in 1991 his will left the house to be split equally
between me and my step sister, but it was to be used by my stepmother
until her death. No problems there, we all get on and it seems very fair.
What I'm wondering about is how that wish gets taken forward.. my
stepmother has since sold th ...

Furniture problem
Wed, 27 Aug 2008 22:50:22 +0100
I bought a cabin bed from a company in July.

Thursday of that week, they promised it would be sent out so I bought the
bed in good faith trusting it would be sent.
When I got it home the one remaining drawer front was damaged, I called them

Securing a debt against a family member
Wed, 27 Aug 2008 21:30:09 +0100
Hi all,
just after a bit of advice on securing a debt against a family member.
Putting a charge on a house is not an option, the best asset is a valuable
camper van worth considerably more than the sum to be owed. The person
giving the money would rather not become the owner of the van for various
insurance ...
