Britain a hotspot of MRSA and E. Coli
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 20:44:18 +0100
Pat's Note: Not all Scottish scientists are as complacent as Dr
Malcolm Ogilvie.
Scotland has big problems with both human and animal epidemics.
They are linked to problems with their veterinarians and the abuse of
antibiotics on hidden pig epidemics.

Real capitalism and pig disease.
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 18:52:33 +0100
Pat's Notes:
Most of my friends and old business acquaintances know that I'm an
unredeemed Thatcherite.
I did not approve of everything she said or did, but her economic
policies and concept of "letting the market decide" were fundamentally
sound.
It is in strong contrast to a communistic corporate farmin ...

Scots vets threaten strike
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 17:19:55 +0100
Pat's Note: This is much of interest here guaranteed to bring a
grimmace to any face interested in animal health.
This particular journal always works in the name of the "State
Veterinary Service." That piece of rebranding obviously did not work
with them either. Anyway, we all hardly had time to learn "Animal ...

Meat industry warned before public: Lawsuit Listeria (long)
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 14:06:56 +0100
Pat's Note:
"I've looked at the records and that satisfies the legal requirement
for international trade."
The Canadians are complaining about four days.
I'm complaining about nine years and the scale, number of victims and
gregraphical spread is much much greater.
There will be tears before bedtime in ...

E.Coli 0157 - Scotland - Grampian
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 12:17:14 +0100
Pat's Note: Usually seems to be associated with cattle, but this
strain is also found in pigs, and this is pig country and an area
known to had/have a severe PMWS epidemic.
No obvious signs of pigs from the air, but there have been several
cases where it has been found in ground water associated with
intensiv ...

MRSA - Denmark clamps down on their vets
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 09:52:51 +0100
Pat's Note: Very recently Denmark publicly linked MRSA in pigs to the
disease in people and took action to protect their hospitals.
They now seem to be well on the way towards dealing with the causes.
" More intensive control of veterinarians. "
The Danes now own much of Britain's pig capacity. They know wha ...

Listeria - Canada - Maple Leaf - PMWS
Wed, 27 Aug 2008 20:15:01 +0100
Pat's Note: This outbreak seems to be causing a great deal of concern
in Canada. Over 5000 news reports.
Now, my old friends the Hamilton Spectator are reporting. They are
vetrrans of local MRSA and C.Diff outbreaks in local hopsitals and
this journal has been making the pace in investigative journalism into
a ...

Superbug cover-ups
Wed, 27 Aug 2008 19:07:11 +0100
Pat's Note:
Superbugs were killing people by the "hundreds", he said, but "doctors
don't dare speak out, the staff don't dare speak up because they will
get sacked".
That is a statement of fact from a senior source.
Britain has a terrible reputation for the appalling treatment of her
"whistle blowers."

MRSA - from pig to patient - the route of transmission
Wed, 27 Aug 2008 18:19:51 +0100
Pat's Note: The route PMWS is taking from pig to patient is so simple
that a ten year old could grasp it.
The remedy is obvious, so alas are the reasons why so much lying and
cover ups in veterinary science are tolerated by the medical
profession, here and elsewhere in the world.
This little Lulu took nine mo ...
