cd radio for beetle 1302

I would like to fit a cd/radio/mp3 player into the non standard aperture in
my 1302 to save people banging their knees on the one currently slung under
the passenger side dash. Anyone know of something that will fit in the
aperture without needing to cut metal?

Importing to the UK

Just acquired a '79 Westy Berlin from Ireland.
But its newly imported in to Ireland from the USA, all import taxes and
duties paid....but not registered.
How are the DVLA and HM Customs likely to handle this.
