Been lurking a while.
I just got myself a 1.6 s 16 v golf 2001 and had a few questions ... I think
its aircooled or I might be in the wrong group.
No problems with the car. I basically have a empty place where the stereo

Engine swaps

Just idly thinking about air-cooled VWs, and more specifically what
engines are suitable as swaps for more power, if that's what floats
your boat.
I have seen several type 2s and 3s with Subaru engines, but can't
remember seeing any Beetles with them. Is there a reason for this, or
have I just not seen them?

Hi,
I have a 1960s VW Beetle that I'm doing up at the moment. So far my mechanic
has put in
1. 1641cc engine and a 1300cc Transmission - include Mahle pistons/barrells,
heavy duty high rpm valve springs,
lightened flywheel, new cyc heads, Engle 110 camshaft/gear set, 200mm clutch
kit, and a pierburg kombi ...

when i use my head unit, my red wire works, but my yellow doesn't. i know
fuse 22 (radio) is okie, and the internal lights all seem to work. so what
fuse have i blown! . cheer.s.

hi vw folks.
i'm the proud owner of a 1969 t2a.
Only one problem so far,the former owner put in a 1200 cc motor.!!(it does a
nice 85 kmh top!!!!)(downhill!!)
I now have already a 2.0 motor (no dynamo,no carburator etc.)
But i don't know which carburator to install.
I also want to let it drive on lpg !( i'm f ...
