Oils Shelf Life     Wed, 10 May 2006 15:11:58 -0400
According to the Engine Oil Bible, http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbibles/engineoil_bible.html , the shelf life for "Engine Oils and Transmission Oils" is only 3 years. Presumably this is for unopened sealed containers and would also include ATF. This seems excessively conservative indeed! Surely an unopened ...

Oil pressure up and down (MGB GT 1974)     10 May 2006 08:20:18 -0700
Hello all, as the title says, I have 74 MGB GT. I think the timing could do with a tweak (some misfires when I'm pulling off), but the thing that's worrying me is that when I pull away in first and second gear (revs never getting above 3K) the oil pressure guage drops to 0. When I get in third it recovers. ...

e85 and a "stock" 1966 MGB     28 Apr 2006 21:58:18 -0700
I have a 1966 MGB and have been running lead-added fuel in it. As that is becoming (?) illegal here, I'm looking at using other fuels in it. 85% ethanol is a popular and relatively inexpensive fuel here and I'm wondering if anyone foresees any potential problems trying to run the car on just that. ...

Engine replacement     20 Apr 2006 07:14:54 -0700
I have recently purchased a second hand engine for my MG TF 52 reg ( the old one has failing head gasket!) it has only done 7000 miles as is perfect order. Replacing an MGB-GT Headliner     19 Apr 2006 21:47:51 -0700
Hello all, I need to replace the headliner in my '66 MGB-GT. I've purchased the kit from Moss Motors, but am at a loss as to how to proceed. Has anyone undertaken this ordeal, and do you have any recommendations, aside from my fathers: "Pay an expert to do it!" After that comes the windsheild... :-( '66 ...

Mikunis on MGs     Wed, 19 Apr 2006 11:45:07 -0400
Has anyone else here tried using Mikunis on a B in place of the original SUs? When the HS4s on my ' 70 B-GT got past the point of another sensible rebuild I investigated options for replacement. New SUs were available here in Canada, but very pricey. I've always disliked the sliding jet choke system, ...
