Lockheed Servo - reconditioned?

Hi,
I found a set of messages from back in 2001 about a problem with a
brake servo on a BGT. I have the same problem, or something similar.
When I leave the car idling, after about 2 minutes the brake lights
come on and the brakes are bound, or at least sluggish. If I pump the

I'm a yank with a '77 midget with a bit of a tired motor.
My question is re-build it? (I'd also like more performance if possible)
Swap something else?(Some sort of American motor and Trans)4,v6,or even a V8

I just purchased my first MG, which is a 1977 MGB.
The car needs a rebuild because the car has been sitting for several years.
It has the original Zenith carb on it, and several people have told me to
replace it with a Weber carb as opposed to messing with the original because
