car wont start - fuel gauge registers zero (flashing) but fuel in
there.
Wed, 21 Oct 2009 06:03:25 -0700 (PDT)
Weird. Wife said there was a strange clicking noise when she opened
the door and then car wouldnt start.
I had a look and fuel gauge registered none and light was flashing, so
I assumed the silly cow had run out of petrol. Put 5 litres in but its
still the same. Engine turning over fine.
Is there possibly a s ...

My Laguna 1.6 is suffering a bit of power loss at higher revs, under load.
Tonight whilst sitting at lights I noted that:
Car Idles at around 600 revs
Press brakes, revs drop to 500
Let go of brakes, revs rise to around 800 then return to normal.
Never noticed this on any previuos car - could this be an indic ...

spray gun problems
Tue, 20 Oct 2009 03:44:33 -0700 (PDT)
I just got a new SIP touch up gun which worked quite well first time I
used it. After doing the job I duly stripped it down to clean it and
found the fluid nozzle had been cemented on during assembly and quite
hard to remove. I unbolted it and cleaned it but now with thinners
only in the cup it spits unevenly. I'v ...

Ford KA osf indicator bulb replacement
Mon, 19 Oct 2009 20:15:08 +0100
Should it be so hard? Got a text from my daughter telling me that her
front o/s indicator wasn't working. So I picked up a bulb on my way
home, popped open the bonnet to perform what can surely be only a 5
minute job....
Can anyone explain how this is done? I don't have a Haynes manual for
the car yet but b ...

More trouble with the daughter's Street Ka. It really has been a piece of
garbage, and has cost her a lot of money, one way or another.
This is the 1600 engine. It has been having problems with poor starting and
initial running, particularly after standing all day. Once it had 'caught'
and had smoothed out, f ...

advice on used car
Mon, 19 Oct 2009 00:02:09 +0100
Hi.. I`m looking into trading in my old escort for another car.
I`m on quite a tight budget so looking at cars marked up for about ¡ê3000 no
more.
Seems I`m looking at 6 - 7 year old astras or focus for around that mark.
But I have seen a 2004 54 HYUNDAI ACCENT 5door hatch for ¡ê3000. It looks in
mint condition ...

Pal of mine has a motorhome based on a 15 year old Transit 2.5 turbo
diesel which is giving problems. It's very down on power throughout the
rev range. So far the garage has replaced the ECU at a cost of several
hundred with no improvment and now want to change the fuel pump for nearly
a grand.
I know little abou ...
