Battery testing

A while ago someone on here posted some guidelines for testing batteries. It
went something along the lines of this:
Over 13 volts or so when running = alternator OK.
Battery should settle to xx volts after running.
The next morning, the battery should be above xx volts.
Unfortunately, I can't find it on goo ...

Update on mk4 golf knocking

Sometimes at pull of there is a slight clunk\knock and also in reverse.
I'm purely guessing it could be the wishbone bushes, drop link bushes
aor arb bushes or something else ? How do I go about diagnosing or
rulling each of these out as it might get expensive replacing all of
these :) Appreciate any advice on ...

Gear Oil Change Advice Please

Please could I have some advice on whether or not to change my gearbox
oil ?
My car is Avensis 2002 1.8 vvti manual 106 000 on clock
I don't think it has been changed before and ever topped up ......
Thought it might improve gear changing which has become a bit stiff

Which grease is happy with rubber ?

I am going ot be changing some rubber bushes and was told not to apply
them dry and to use a rubber friendly grease on the inside of the anti
roll bar bushes to avoid squeaks.
The only grease I have is copperslip, and servicol I think its called or
something similar is a grease for high temperature applicatio ...

mk4 golf wishbone bushes front and rear

There is this very noticeable knock sound when I brake at a slower speed
or when reversing then braking. I am pure guessing this is the wishbone
bushes ? or the anti-roll bar bushes.
Is there anyway to find out which is worn and needs replacing.
Anyone done this job on a mk4 golf 1.6 16v 01 model.
